The company develops software for online casinos, online poker rooms, online bingo games, online sports betting, scratch games, mobile casinos and fixed-odds arcade games on the Internet.

Playtech Casino software powers a number of famous online casinos such as William Hill, Mansion, GoldenPalace, Betfred, Sega Casino, Bet365, Casino Tropez, Europa Casino, Prestige Casino and Crown Europe Casino.

Playtech was founded in 1999 by Teddy Sagi: one of Israelīs richest men. In March 2006, the then 34-year-old floated Playtech on the London Stock Exchange. He sold 25% of the company for $250 million in cash and still owns 40% of the company.

Playtech employs over 800 people in multiple countries.

After the US market closed, the company's shares got hit with a one-day fall of over 40%. It has since built back the losses. The company no longer accepts players from the United States.

Teddy Sagi controls 41% of Playtech through his investment vehicle Brickington.
